Maintenance Mechanic 
MAINTENANCE MECHANIC II The Scripps Research Institute is currently seeking a Maintenance Mechanic II for its Florida facility. Will build &/or install shelves, cabinets & doors; replace ballasts, electrical outlets, light switches & bulbs; inspect sinks, drinking fountains, toilets, emergency showers & eye washers; install & change locks in drawers, cabinets & doors; replace floor & ceiling tiles; patch & paint walls; set up & maintain laboratory hoods & incubators; move equipment, freezers & furniture; change water & air filters, vacuum pump filters, exhaust fans & belts; inspect fire extinguishers to ensure proper operation; respond to emergency calls & equipment alarms; may be cross-trained in boiler room operations; & other duties as assigned. Will function on the Crisis Management Team & participate in a rotating emergency on-call schedule; participate in emergency shutdowns & planned or unplanned overtime may be required.
