Coordinates activities involved with procuring goods and services, such as raw materials, equipment, tools, parts, and supplies. Selects products and services by working closely with store managenement and distribution to understand needs. Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information, such as price, availability, and delivery schedule. Acquire the correct products and services and ensure that goods or services are provided in a timely and professional fashion. Estimates values according to knowledge of market price. Advises on method of procurement, such as direct purchase or bid. Manages purchase requisition and purchase order process. Prepares purchase orders or bid requests. Maintains computerized procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with store management and distribution center and pursues appropriate consideration from vendors and/or determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
